Day 6 Lejog 2024

It's Day 6 of our epic cycling trip when we travelled from Bishops Castle to Runcorn. Our longest leg yet - 74 miles but also very few hills. The wind had dropped and the sun returned making this the ideal conditions for the ride. Our cycle ride took  us through the beautiful town of Shrewsbury. On the way we passed Percy Thrower Avenue, who those  of a certain age will remember as the acclaimed voice of British gardening. We then briefly went  back again into Wales when we rode into  Wrexham before moving into Cheshire to our final destination. At our overnight stay at the Holiday Inn,  Peak Tours had kindly arranged for a local masseuse to offer treatment sessions to help ease the aches and pains from many hours on the bike. We look forward to tomorrow which will mark  the halfway point for the cycling adventure.

Our Motley crew!!

What a wonderful mix of people on our trip. Apart from our international friends and our South London contingent, there are cyclists from Cumbria, Teeside, South Yorkshire, Worcestershire and Cardiff to name just a few. We have a brother and sister, and daughter and Dad ( celebrating his 70th birthday ),  And a good range of professions including Doctors ,Dentists, Accountants, Driving Instructor and a Dog Walker. Al! sharing the same passion to cycle from one end of the UK to the other.
